  1. new found joy & contentment

Not sure if it’s my busy schedule of training for another half-marathon, volunteering, designing, soccer, or the yoga-30-day challenge, but I’ve recently found a totally new amount of joy and contentment. I’ve had the time to sit back and sip my tea while reading magazines, sketching ideas, listening to audiobooks and watching amazing acts of strength. I’ve been meditating on this excerpt recently and it gives me a sense of calm whenever I struggle with the motivation of setting my own pace/work day. Because let’s face it even when your job ends your work is just beginning.

“My suggestion is that you start with the love and then work very hard and try to let go of the results. Cast out your will, and then cut the line. Please try, also, not to go totally freaking insane in the process. Insanity is a very tempting path for artists, but we don’t need any more of that in the world at the moment, so please resist your call to insanity. We need more creation, not more destruction. We need our artists more than ever, and we need them to be stable, steadfast, honorable and brave – they are our soldiers, our hope” - Elizabeth Gilbert
